Trust
How Nostoi.ai handles ranking, agent leads, AI transparency, listing freshness, and verification.
Ranking Charter
Where Nostoi orders buyer results, the ordering is query-specific: it uses structured listing information and the signals of your own search — never who paid. The same rules apply to every agency and every agent, identically.
Any paid, sponsored or featured placement is always clearly labelled and never changes ordering, advisory wording, warnings, or what Nostoi says a listing may suit. Nostoi does not order results to maximise your clicks or time on the site — only to answer your brief.
The full promise, in plain English: read our trust charters.
Your Listing, Your Lead
When you enquire about a home, your enquiry goes to that listing's agent and their office, with a copy to the listing-feed provider that supplied the listing so it can reconcile and audit the enquiries made on its own listings — it is not auctioned, resold, or diverted to whoever pays more. Agents never buy access to your enquiry.

AI Labelling
Nostoi's guidance is generated with AI, and we say so wherever it appears. It is built to comment only on what the evidence supports — listing information and Nostoi's own records — and to say that information is missing rather than guess.
What an agent supplied is presented as the agent's claim, not as verified fact. If we cannot confirm something, we do not present it as confirmed.
Listing Freshness
Every listing carries a freshness status, and we show it rather than hide it. A listing that has not been confirmed recently is marked accordingly, and where we hold a last-verified date we show that too. We would rather tell you a listing might be stale than let you plan a viewing around one.
Verification Signals
Some facts arrive declared by agents and agencies, and some we can check. We label the difference. Where a listing or detail carries a verification mark, the page says what was checked. A missing mark means not yet checked — it is not an accusation.
What our maps show — and what they never will
Nostoi's maps are there to orient you, not to persuade you. They show a home's area honestly at the precision we actually have (an exact point only where that is permitted; otherwise the suburb, clearly labelled), official-source records like schools and health facilities with their source and date attached, and the areas your own search covers.
Some things you will not find on our maps, by design:
- No price heatmaps or "area scores". Colour-graded suburbs compress complicated realities into a verdict that can quietly steer you. We would rather show you the underlying facts and let you ask questions.
- No crime overlays. Safety matters — and it deserves better than a shaded map with no context. Ask the advisor and it will point you to official sources you can weigh yourself.
- No paid prominence. Nothing an agent or agency pays for changes what any map shows. Every area in your results is drawn identically.
- No tracking of where you are. We never ask the browser for your location. If you drop a "point that matters" to compare distances, that point stays on your device, is never sent to us, and disappears when you leave.
- No invented data. If we do not hold an official record or a boundary for an area, the map says so or shows nothing — an empty map never means "there is nothing there".
Open data attribution
Some area information on Nostoi (such as train stations, airports, parks and place locations) includes data from GeoNames (licensed under CC BY 4.0) and, where used, boundary data from Statistics South Africa. This information is not exhaustive and locations are approximate — always verify anything important with the relevant official body.
